About Us

Madame Talbot's Victorian Lowbrow

The Madame Talbot's Victorian and Gothic Lowbrow website has expanded exponentially, to the point where we are constantly updating the site with brand new one-of-a-kind gothic death-themed creations, many of which are created by Madame Talbot.

We take great pride in our unique dark art products and make certain that our customers are completely satisfied with our service as well as our products. We are a stable and consistent company that focuses on either finding or producing works of art which are of exceptional quality, pieces that we would want for our own private collections.

Madame Talbot is a purist when it comes to creating her Framed Curio Exhibits in that she makes certain to utilize items that are not gaffs or reproductions i.e. a real human heart, a real human brain, a real human skull, etc. She sews everything by hand using only a needle and thread. Madame Talbot has created many different types of framed curios over the years, using vintage velvets, brocades, lace and antique buttons, her themes always being dark vintage and creepy Victorian.

She does not enlist the use of any "helpers" or machine assistance; hers is purely a solitary creative adventure where you can be absolutely certain that one-of-a-kind item was made entirely by Madame Talbot from start to completion.

And as with all of her subject matter, Madame Talbot works within traditional Victorian and Gothic Lowbrow themes that are at once timeless and current, merging the past and present with each individual piece that she creates in order to insure quality and care are of the utmost importance.

Her posters are exceptional in that all of her illustrations are drawn entirely by hand using a pen and black ink, and each individual poster can take up to two weeks to complete. Once a poster is completed, the illustration is then printed using actual film that is shot directly from the original artwork.

No computers are ever used in the creation of any of Madame Talbot's hand-illustrated pen-and-ink finished pieces.

Her posters are printed "Old School" meaning, they are offset printed utilizing a real printing press. We have found that offset printing creates a much higher quality than digital. and helps to maintain the integrity of the original pen-and-ink illustration, not to mention what Victorian Lowbrow and Gothic Lowbrow truly stands for.

If you have any questions at all, Please don't hesitate to email us and we'll get right back to you. We just created new carts for your shopping pleasure, just click the basket or order icon, it's that easy.
