IMPKO Advertising Stand and Decals
This is a rare 1950's store display card for IMPKO decals. This display was manufactured by
IMPKO Imprint Art Products, Inc. Hackensack, N.J., a decal specialty company which produced
many different designs during the 1950's and 60's.
Impko was a New Jersey printing company who's logo showed an
alien-like smiling imp, printed not only travel decals but all kinds of other wonderful art,
bicycle and cartoon decals. Sadly, Impko is long gone, and the trademark was
abandoned many years ago.
This item was found in storage of an old hobby shop. The display is made of cardboard.
There is a built-in fold out support on the reverse side so it can be used as a counter
display. Corners are dinged, top has a v-shape cut out but condition is very clean overall
on the front, the back shows slight
sun damage - see photos. Printing colors are bright
and show well. There are still 4 unused decal sheets on the card, each in its printed factory
glassine sleeve. The decals are "Apollo II", "Cha Cha Babe?", Brute", and "Grinning Indian".
Card dimensions are 12 and 5/8 inches x 9 and 1/4 inches. A nice find for the vintage decal collector!
