Kopp's Baby's Friend Bottle

Kopp's Baby's Friend Bottle

The Kopp's "Baby's Friend Co." bottle in its original box and still wrapped in it's original flier advertising paper. This bottle is in MINT condition, it appears to be of a clear color and flat tooled lip bottle. This is an early type of lip.

The label is mint condition as is the cork. The label reads:

KOPP'S
ALCOHOL ABOUT 8 and 1/2 PER CENT.
SULPHATE OF MORPHINE
1/8 GRAIN PER OUNCE
BESIDES OTHER MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS
MADE BY
THE KOPP'S
BABY'S FRIEND CO.
Successors to Mrs. J.A. Kopp York Pa. USA.

This is a 1 and 1/2 ounce bottle with full contents. This bottle has never been opened, though the contents have slightly evaporated over all these many years.

I would date this bottle to the later 1800's. Probably 1880 to 1910 at the latest. One interesting thing is the bottle label is priced at $.25 cents and the box is priced at $.30 cents. A dollar was a lot of money back then, and I know that medicines were outrageously priced usually a dollar for a bottle of SNAKE OIL or it's like, some even more.

Also the flat tooled lip is a very early type lip and there are no mold marks on the neck at all. Usually the higher the mold mark on the neck the later the bottle.

So this leads me to believe it is on the 1800's side of time line. You will not ever find a better example of this bottle..... it is mint!

All bottles are sold only for collector purposes
and contents must not be used in any way. This item is being sold as a collectible only and not for use of the contents.
