Moyer Brothers LAUDANUM bottle
This is a vintage Moyer Brothers bottle that once contained laudanum,
the highly addictive painkiller ever-so-popular in the days of the Wild West --
although, trust me, this stuff had a slew of fans in the East, too, not to mention
in Europe & elsewhere as well -- which was a mixture of opium and alcohol!
The bottle stands a little under four and 1/2 inches tall, and still has its original
cork as well as a few bubbles in the glass to give it "character."
The bottle is empty, of course, which surviving specimens usually are --
Something like this would certainly be "good to the last drop" to its devotees! --
but there are a couple of spots of residue inside.
The label and bottle are both is in very good condition and is considered one of the
most desireable of all laudanum bottles because of the Moyer Brothers label.
