Vintage Erythrol Tetranitrate Bottle 1

For your consideration:

A wee lovely poison bottle that once contained:

Erythrol Tetranitrate, which is a potent drug used in counteracting coronary insufficiency.

Erythrol is a principle existing in many lichens and in some algae. Tetranitrate is explosive on quick heating or percussion, like nitro-glycerin. It is given in the same manner and for the same purpose, that of quickly dialating capillaries.

The label reads as follows:

and on the back of bottle is the written script by a physician but the ink is faded.

The bottle is oval and is 2 and 1/4 inches tall.

This vintage bottle is in mint condition with a very good readable label.
