ESKAY'S Infant Invalid Food Bottle
For your consideration:
This is a very old bottle from 1893 which once contained Infant and Invalid Food which
was prepared by Smith, Kline & French, Co., in Philadelphia, PA. I am thinking this
was the United States version of what they had in the UK, which was Bone Marrow in a jar.
Also, the infant mortality rate was skyrocketing back then and people were thinking of ways
to fatten their children. Back then, fat children was a sign of good health.
The bottle itself is in great condition though the original cap has surface corrosion.
The label has some tearing but is still in good display condition and can still be read.
Dated on the underside. The bottle stands 7 and 1/2 inches tall.
This lovely bottle comes from the private collection of a longtime
collector of Apothecary Items.
All bottles are sold only for collector purposes
and contents must not be used in any way. This item is being sold as a collectible only and
not for use of the contents.
