Chicago Pat June 17th 1902 & May 12th 1903.
The size of the plate is 4 inches wide by 2 and 1/4 inches tall.
Condition is rough, one can barely read the type, and there is a bit of rust present.
Vibrassage was one of many companies who made and provided vibrators to doctors.
The vibrators were invented to replace manual pelvic stimulation that doctors provided
to wealthy white women deemed as "hysterics" during the Victorian era. The vibrator
was a money maker for doctors, manual pelvic stimuation could take up to an hour a client,
whereas with the new fangled vibrator, he could "cure" a women of her "hysteria" in
less than ten minutes.
This item comes from the private collection of a longtime
collector of Apothecary Items.
