Empty Ung. Sulfuratum Large Delft Cannister with Lid
"Ung. Sulfuratum" meaning: Ung. Sulfuratum also means Thiolan, which is a
per cent sulphur ointment in which the sulphur is partly dissolved and partly suspended.
It was used with good results in various skin diseases such as scabies.
The cannister measures 8 and 1/2" tall and 4 and 3/4" in diameter at the bottom.
This cannister is a lovely blue tint with hand-painted blue items throughout.
The front has peacocks, flowers, angels with wings & crosses.
It is in excellent condition and is marked at the bottoms.
This (and the other Delft cannisters I have for sale) cannister was purchased
at an Estate Sale about 9 years ago, the original owner was a very old midwife.
