Antique original paregoric bottle with paper label cork top.

This is an empty paregoric bottle from S. P. Hite Co., Inc., Roanoke, Virginia circa late 1800s to early 1900s.

Paregoric was a Morphine and Alcohol based fluid:

47% Alcohol
1/5 Grain Anhydrous Morphine to each Fluid Oz.

The label has the dosage amounts:

ADULTS: One to Two Teaspoonfuls

CHILDREN: 5 TO 30 Drops.

Bottle stands around 4-3/4 inches tall.

Paregoric was a popular drug during the 19th and early 20th century and was taken for various complaints, adults, children and infants.

This is a beautiful all original paregoric bottle that would be a wonderful addition to anyone's medicine bottle collection.
