ANOMALIES AND CURIOSITIES FRAMED CURIO
Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine - Being an encyclopedic collection of rare and extraordinary cases, and of the most striking instances of abnormality in all branches of medicine and surgery, derived from an exhaustive research of medical literature from its origin to the present day, abstracted, classified, annotated, and indexed.

From a medical book which was published in 1896.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This beautiful framed curio is HUGE! It is 29 inches wide by 36 inches tall. The image area is 21 and 1/2 inches wide by 27 and 1/2 inches tall. The placard is hand-illustrated using pen-and-ink on hundred-year-old paper which reads:

Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine
Being a Collection of Rare and Extraordinary Cases.

The placard uses vintage black mounting corners and is centered on vintage red velvet and framed in a beautiful vintage gold wooden frame. This is signed and dated on the back and ready to hang in your own personal dime museum or sideshow.

The items in the case: Old church key, Victorian coffin plaque, plague spoon, container of worms, large human bone, candle nubs, coins, Victorian hair art wrapped around a dried rose stem, human toe bone, a huge mass of human hair, 5 very old human teeth, a human rib bone, and finally, a 6-inch taxidermied bull frog (a specimen that is not of a declining frog population).

Each item has a cursive hand-written placard using pen-and-ink, describing how each item was used as medicinal and superstition cures during the Victorian era and even before that.

If you are thinking of purchasing a Framed Curio Exhibit,
please read the Bone FAQ to make sure you are within your legal
limit when purchasing human bones, etc.
