DENTAL MISHAP FRAMED CURIO EXHIBIT
This beautiful framed exhibit is 12 and 1/4 inches high by 10 inches wide. The image area is 7 and 3/4 inches high by 5 and 3/4 inches wide. The shadowbox area is 4 and 1/4 inches thick. The placard was typed using a hundred-year-old typewriter on hundred-year-old paper which reads:

DENTAL MISHAPS
The Itinerate Teeth Drawer
Bloodletting, Bonesetting & Corn Cutting

1785 - With the mighty force of the gripping claw (Clavis Anglica), one brisk turn of the dental key handle over the crown was sufficient in breaking the offending tooth from its socket.

Not all extractions went as planned, some were fraught with unpleasant mishaps, specifically the fracture of the skull and the quantity of Gums and mouth flesh torn away by the claw and dirty fingers.

Bone fragments resulting from such accidents had to be removed, typically by cutting a large incision into the Gum for access; resulting in the painful and bloody removal of major sections of the upper and lower jaw bones as well as perfectly sound teeth.

The placard is mounted on vintage blue-black velvet and framed in a beautiful vintage gold wooden frame with light maroon velvet trim.

This is a left maxilla, with a portion of the volmer and zygomatic bone (the piece jutting out is the cheek bone) of a real human skull that has been hand-sewn onto the velvet. It is signed and dated on the back and is ready to hang in your own personal dime museum or sideshow.

If you are thinking of purchasing a Framed Curio Exhibit,
please read the Bone FAQ to make sure you are within your legal
limit when purchasing human bones, etc.
