FOREIGN BODIES IN THE ALIMENTARY CANAL

The variety of foreign bodies that have been swallowed either accidentally or for exhibitional or suicidal purposes is enormous. Nearly every imaginable article from the minutest to the most incredible in size has been reported. To begin to epitomize the literature on this subject would in itself consume a volume, and only a few instances can be give here, chosen in such a way as to show the variety, the effects, and the possibilites of their passage through the alimentary canal.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This beautiful framed exhibit is 19 and 1/2 inches wide by 33 inches tall. The image area is 13 and 1/2 inches wide by 27 and 1/2 inches tall. The placard which reads Foreign Bodies in the Alimentary Canal is all hand-illustrated using pen-and-ink on vintage paper.

All of the vintage items have been hand-sewn onto vintage green velvet. Each section of items comes with a description regarding how said items came to be in a human alimentary canal and what the outcome was. All of this framed in a vintage wood frame. This piece is ready to hang in your own personal dime museum or sideshow.
