VICTORIAN LOWBROW MOURNING DOLL:
Mrs. Lovett Victorian Mourning Doll

Mrs. Lovett
------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs. Margery Lovett
Mrs. Lovett became involved in a passionate affair with the Demon Barber named Sweeney Todd and later became his accomplice. He had murdered many of his own customers and for a while had been using abandoned crypts in order to hide the corpses. After a while, he ran out of room and needed a new way to dispose of his murder victims. Enter the lovely Mrs. Lovett.

They discovered a disused underground tunnel leading from the cellar of Sweeney’s Barber shop, which ran beneath St Dunstan's Church and the burial crypt, finishing up under Mrs. Lovett’s pie shop, making it an ideal business partnership.

One writer described her pie shop this way: "One of the most celebrated shops for the sale of veal and pork pies that London had ever produced. High and low, rich and poor, resorted to it; its fame had spread far and wide; and at twelve o'clock every day when the first batch of pies was sold there was a tremendous rush to obtain them."

The write continued,"Oh, those delicious pies. There was about them a flavour never surpassed and rarely equaled; the paste was of the most delicate construction, and impregnated with the aroma of delicious gravy that defied description."

Sweeney Todd worked very quickly on his murder victims to avoid rigor mortis, disjointing the limbs and severing them from the body, even taking time to remove the skin, which was unusable for pies.

The victim was then dressed out like a deer, and all of the meat having been stripped from the bones, was put to the side for later. It was the vital organs that was ground up for the delicious pie fillings. The fresh meat would be boxed for delivery to Mrs. Lovett for later use.

When Mrs. Lovett was finally arrested, she was in the process of serving some of her mouth-watering pies to herever-present customers and it was then that they learned the actual contents of their delicious pies.
