Edited by Paul Sieveking

160 pages with numberous b/w illustrations

Wonderful and strange book filled with clippings gathered from George Ives. He pasted his first clipping
in his first scrapbook in 1892 when Queen Victoria was still alive. He kept at it for sixty years and
filled up forty-five fat volumes of his newsclippings, nearly six thousand pages.
Some of the more interesting paper cuttings are: Aleister Crowley having been thrown out of Paris and
then living in Sicily, hangmen stories, stories of censorship, the call of the wild, depravity and murder,
eccentrics, fanatics, freaks, high archives, law and order, miscellanea, phenomena, punishment,
religious mania, riches and fame, spectres, strange death, superstition, taboo, transvestism, twists
of fate, war and peace, wedlock, women and complete with a full index and tons of great photos from
the original clippings.
This book has been gently read, the pages are clean and bright with light wear to it's cover and spine.
